WE CAN HELP

We have been producing compliant (to BS 5839 - pt1) useful zone charts for hundreds of trade customers for years and have a rounded knowledge of both addressable/conventional systems and auxiliary devices. We understand that the purpose of a zone chart is to clearly direct the brigade/user to the location of a device activation. This is the main objective, but a zone chart with devices, room names and locations can also greatly reduce the time spent on service visits and help ensure that no devices are missed when testing.

Email us today with a draft image or drawing of a zone chart.

RESOURCES

All fire alarm systems require pictorial zone charts.

A diagrammatic representation of your building in the form of a pictorial zone chart is needed for the fire brigade/user should they need to quickly find their way to an activated device within your building. The British Standard BS:58391 2017 states that the zone chart should be correctly oriented, show a minimum of all building entrances, circulation areas and the division into zones.
It should also include a ‘You Are Here’ mark in order for the user
to identify where they are in relation to the activated device.

Regardless of building size, failure to install a zone chart is a
non-conformance against the standard. It is important to ensure that your zone chart remains up-to-date and accurate in regards to zone allocations and room usages. For addressable systems the loop and device number along with the zone and description should always match that which is on the zone chart.

If you don’t have a zone chart next to your fire alarm panel,
then you need one. Call us today and we can help.

Feel free to send this to your customers.

Just copy & paste it into an email.
